Ruba Al-Zu’bi recently led the Clean Technology Sector Development at USAID Jordan Competitiveness Program with focus on enhancing private sector’s competitiveness, creating jobs and increasing exports in the clean energy, solid waste management and water resources management clusters.

She has contributed to the successful implementation of a number of key reform and development projects in the sustainable development arena from both a private and public sector positions. This includes the environmental reform and institutional strengthening process and several Regional initiatives on such as Horizon 2020. She became the first Policy and Development Director (and the first female Director) at the Ministry of Environment and participated in developing the governance and legal frameworks for Jordan’s Environmental Fund; the decentralization strategy and several other strategic initiatives in the environmental policy arena. Ruba led several departments at the Development and Free Zones Commission including environmental sustainability, project management, business development and communications. She led donor cooperation and negotiated donors assistance and programming.
